Melt Pressure Sensor Working Structure

Melt pressure sensors are devices used to measure the pressure of a liquid or gas. These sensors are often used in industrial applications, the automotive industry, medical devices and many other areas. The working structure of melt pressure sensors basically consists of several main components.

Pressure sensor: A common type of pressure sensor used in melt pressure sensors is a capacitive sensor. This sensor includes a diaphragm placed between two parallel metal plates and subjected to pressure. As the pressure changes, the capacitance between the plates changes due to the bending of the diaphragm. This change is detected by the electronic circuit and converted to the pressure value.

Communication and power circuit: The melt pressure sensors have a communication and power circuit to transmit measured pressure data and provide energy. This circuit processes the signals from the sensor, determines the measured pressure value and generates an output signal.

Housing: Melt pressure sensors contain a housing to protect the sensor and circuits. This enclosure increases the sensor's resistance to external influences and provides sealing. It may also include mounting holes or attachment points to ensure correct placement of the sensor in the environment.

Connections: Melt pressure sensors often provide electrical connections to transmit measured pressure data to a control system or data acquisition unit. These connections are usually made via wires or connectors.

As a working principle, melt pressure sensors measure the pressure difference between the pressured area and the sensor. This pressure difference triggers the capacitance change in the capacitive sensor and is processed by the circuit and converted to the measured pressure value. This converted value can then be used as an output signal or used to communicate with a control system.
